Borders for Selected Items... Optional?

I've asked this a couple of times in the past and one of the developers said "maybe in v3", now I just ask again... will we have borders for selected items? Maybe you could make it optional in preferences so users that do not like the idea can stick to normal behaviour. If you implement it I think its color could be set in "Preferences->Appearance->Theme" and it should be solid so we can see it clearly (blend modes shouldn't mess with it). NOTE: I already have an "item_bg_sel.png" with a border thanks to bbb but it doesn't look so clear because blends modes make it change. Thanks for the hard work bbb but I didn't anticipate this behaviour.

Borders of selected items should be able to use the custom track/item color (if set). So the custom color is indicated for selected items also. There are some ideas about selected items in this thread:
