MiniDisc Digital outs to 001??

Can the digital optical output from a MiniDisc be fed into the 001 somehow???

Yes you can connect the optical outs from your minidisc player to the 001 through the ADAT optical ins on the Digi 001 PCI card. I do this with my Minidisc player and it works fine. There's also a section on it in either the System installation guide or the Basic Users Manual, I can't remember which one.

This is one of the first things I had to do with the 001 system. It didn't work until I found the correct settings in the Playback engine window. I had some live tracks recorded on MD and dumped them to Protools, and can now add more tracks and process the sound. It is nice to keep the whole chain in the digital domain. Jeffrey

i have a sony mds-je510 happy with sound quality, but i count my lucky stars i took out an extended warranty on it...problem problem problem (all of which have been fixable so far) mitch
