Any way to hack nvidia card to support 960x720 resolution or any other screen size?

Hi. Does anyone know a way, or is there a way, to somehow hack or modify some part of the settings or registry of an nvidia card or any other video card to support a 960x720 resolution screen size? I used to be a fan of the voodoo 3dfx graphics card and the one I had supported a resolution of 960x720 and I loved that on my 17 inch monitor but I recently upgraded my to an nvidia card and regreting the upgrade I can no longer get a 960x720 resolution. 1024x768 is sometimes to small on my eyes and 800x600 just limits the amount of work space. but 960x720 is a resolution that gives the best of both sides. It's not too small so as to strain your eyes but it gives enough work space to do everyday multi-tasking. If anyone reading this doesn't know a way then would you know of any other forums where there are 3d graphics board experts whom I may ask. Thank You on behalf of Phrentec.

Powerstrip can help you out. I've added several 'weird' resolutions with it myself. Like: 512*480, 720*480, 768*576 and 1440*768. I also tried 720*768 once (to display PAL anamophic DVDs on a 4:3 screen), but it didn't work :(. Probably because the width is smaller the height. So i added 1440*768 instead. Just download Powerstrip, then go to Display Profiler -> Advanced timing options -> Custom resolutions and add your resolution. Restart your computer and the resolution should be there! Powerstrip is sure powerfull :p Edit: i tried 960*720 and it works!!! I didn't even had to restart :cool:

Go there and download the greatest drivers for your ATI, Nvidia and 3DFX graphics cards!!!! It should support your resolution after you install those... They also come with a bunch of additional tweaks and features versus the regular Nvidia drivers. I've been using OmegaDrives drivers for years... Since I got my Voodoo 5 card when it was released... Just recently upgraded to a G4 and was pleasantly surprised to find out he is working on drivers for Nvidia now, SOOOOOoooooo, they work great:) Newho, give them a whirl, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Thanks a lot for the replies and much more thanks to Slogra. I just tried the powerstrip method and it works perfect. I just need to get the refresh rate to 70 instead of a weird 69Hertz. Ill figure it out. You do not know how much I appreciate this 960x720 resolution. Thanks again.
