divX conversion , mp2 audio without sound

After scanning many posts, I am still not clear on what the problem is. I have a CD containing a divX encode. Since I don't encode to divX any longer, I wanted to bring it to SVCD. Well, I ran into trouble straight on. After DVD2SVCD 110b1a extracted the audio, it went on to convert it. Then it happily moved on to let cce chew through the avi, which it did at a remarkable speed. (2.4) Anyway, being a pessimist, I tried to play the mp2 audio file - no sound. The extracted mpa played fine. I then tried to run it on the older 109b3, which took a completely different course. It created a 700+ MB Wav file, which played fine. Then it encoded to mp2, and sadly enough, the file didn't play any sound. To cross check, I tried another CD from my huge divX collection ( five and counting...), but it produced exactly the same results - a quiet mp2. From searching, I can tell that this isn't an unusual problem. However, no post I read really holds an answer. I will post my log at the bottom. If someone recalls a post, which holds the solution to this problem, I would be glad for a link, or any usefull search terms to come to the right post. The log is from my last attempt, the sync errors did not occur on the other divX movie, which failed to produce a playing mp2 sound file either. Thanks for info... RE: divX conversion , mp2 audio without sound

Thanks, I get it. I thought it was "gain", and I didn't want it to "gain", since the mp3 was probably set to -0 dB. So it is "keeps" rather than gain? Had a look in the DVD2SVCD FAQ, but it only explained autodetect, or set to 3-5. I got errors with those settings, so I lowered, but even setting 1 gave an error, so I figured the mp3 was maxed out and I should set it to zero... Oh well... After letting it run on auto gain again, all works well, which it didn't the first time I tried - Thats why I played around with it... go figure... I guess the mp3 clips, so your Program detects a problem, even if set on 1. I just found the ota readme, and I see that I should have set it to 0db instead of 0. 0.99 should also have done it? Aside: Why does the Ota use g instead of G? (This question comes to mind after reading the readme another two times) Anyway, now I have a problem with the encode, which is just green garbled garbage. Good thing I only have 5 DivX and don't really have to see them again either...

   Now this is funny... All video files on the PC had this problem, though bbmpeg was merrily muxing them and then a CD bin was authored. The mpv and the mpg both showed just garbage. Now here is a neat case of murphys law: Just for curiosity, I took a cue with demon tools, but it was the same garbage. Then I burned one CD and tried to play it with windvd. Same garbage. Then I went to play it in the standalone, just to see if smoke would come up... All was perfect, nice encode, sound in sync... Then I put another SVCD into the PC - failed too. I figure that installing the divX 4.12 codec messed up the system real good, so that I could not play the files with the mp2 codec. Oh well, I'll just code the five movies and then blast divx to hell... It's a nice toy, but somehow a little anachronistic. Thanks for all help offered!
