Reaper midi import (former sonar user)

In Sonar, I create a VST Synth track and then import a midi file with multiple channels as individual tracks. When I did this in reaper, the midi tracks output were not playing through the vst synth. If I import all the midi tracks into the single vst synth track in reaper it works but then I don't have the individual control that I'd have with the separate tracks. What's the best workflow for this in reaper?

You can try this but there might be an easier way. 1. Create the Synth Track (I'll this track 1) Insert the VSYTi here. 2. Import the MIDI file to however many tracks it wants, let's say there are six, tracks 2 to 7. 3. Make track 1 into a folder. 4. Tracks 2 to 7 will now be in the folder 5. Select track 7, click on folder button to make last track in folder. :) On edit: ha - Schwa types faster than me! :D
