looking for a new sound card

MessageAuthor

hi all, basically i'm looking for a new soundcard :) im using a PC with reaper, and i do my guitars/vocals with a pod studio ux2, and i also use a midi keyboard through the USB connection ideally what im after would be a soundcard that lets me run both the analogue outputs from the pod studio into the soundcard, and also run the keyboard midi output into the soundcard and then run that to my speakers currently i just run the ux2 to my speakers and use it as my soundcard, but then i cant do my keyboard at the same time.... also the keyboard has a slight latency issue which is annoying and i figured running it directly into the midi of a soundcard would be more efficient? any help or advice anyone could give would be much appreciated as i dont really know a lot and am just trying to find out whats available!! btw, money is a little tight as always seems to be the case lol thanks guys

RE: looking for a new sound card

Why can’t you use your keyboard at the same time as your UX2? I used to use an Edirol UM-2EX midi interface for my keyboard alongside a UX1 audio interface. I didn’t notice any obvious latency problems, provided I had my UX1 set to 256 samples or lower. Although I’m probably not a good enough keyboard player to judge this. If you can't currently use your keyboard at the same time as the UX2 for some reason, adding a simple midi interface might be a very inexpensive option, provided your keyboard has a midi connection.
