6.1, -6031, So Far, So Good

Started a mix on a small cable movie on Monday, in PTv6.01 in OS 10.2.6, dual 1-gig, 16-tracks, running DV off of firewire and audio off an internal 7200. All fine, except for those pesky "Overloaded CPU -6031" errors, or whatever it says. (Happened 4 times in an 8 hour session, whether session was running or not) Last night, download 6.1 and new DAE 6.1cs1 (or whatever it is) and loaded it before the start of today's dub. Voila! No error messages. My mouse, though it didn't freeze, disappeared. I could turn the track ball and watch numbers move and see items highlight on the dock, but the actual arrow disappeared. Weird. Only happened once. But no more -6031 errors. And on a dub, that's a wonderful thing. Outside of the mouse weirdness, everything ran perfectly. Craig

Good to hear this is fixed. One of the engineers at digi sent me a version of the 6.0 DAE without the RTAS engine in it about a month ago, and have had no probs. Sounds like they rejigged it for 6.1. I, like you do sync work and it was a bit painful doing restripes! cheers, John.

the mouse dissapearing gimmek happens when i jog using my HUI in d8B. funny really kant figure out why... get it bak by going to the desktop or somehing... cant remember.. dont use the jog dial anymore... hmmm...

Hi folks-- Regarding the 6031 / SYNC IO issue, the reason that we have not found a fix for this bug is because we have not been able to reproduce the bug in house. So, I am wondering if there is anyone in the SF Bay Area who can consistently reproduce this bug, and who would be open to an engineer (or two) coming over and doing some debugging on their system. FWIW: My specs are G4 867 Pt6.01 4 192s with 1st 192 xtra input 2nd 192 xtra output card 3rd= same as 1st fourth= same as 2nd Sync, glyph trip rack, 4bay 768 megs of ram. The reason for posting this is if DIGI can configure the same system and hopefully pop up with the same problem! Ive been running in single processor mode through the firmware page with no problems whatsoever, but i feel like i wasted money for a dual processor because of this! Just hope DIGI can reproduce this problem!!
