Two problems: 1) my asio driver, only during recording sometimes, errors out. reaper stops. I say ok, delete, then start recording again and all is fine until the next random reaper shutdown. Seems to always happen during my good recordings....annoying 2) I can live w/#1, but now reaper won't play at normal speed. Nothing has changed. I was just recording, deleting, rerecording a track and hit save. Hit play. nothing.Shut down reaper, restarted, it plays but at 3/4 speed only. everything is slow and deep. Shut pc down rebooted. Same thing. Shut down three times. Same thing! anyone seen this?
sound card? never experienced anything like this apart from when I had dodgy drivers with one of my Presonus cards. Got newer drivers and it was all sorted.
The sound card is the same its been for months. Drivers are the same. Nothing is changed. Nothing. I simply opened up reaper, opened a project I've been working on, all was working fine for about 30 minutes, then it stopped playing. Then after shutdown, it started playing, but at 3/4-1/2 speed.
ram gone bad, soundcard overheating? If it was more widespread I might think it was a problem with a Reaper version, but we would have heard about it by now. Sorry I can't help.
Does this machine have internet access? Have you applied any update to the OS or any other application on it? Running an Anti VIrus program that auto updates? Spyware? There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that many people don't know about. Need to investigate all of those possibilities. Bad RAM, marginal hard drives, even a dip in voltage to the wall socket can potentially cause issues.
Other projects play fine. thankfully. however the one that is messed up is my most complete and favorite...I'm PISSED right now. I did a file "save as" and added a 2 to the end of the filename. Could this have caused the corruption ?
I'll just assume you Mac stopped working properly until you post some detailed specs for us regarding your hardware and software. :D (this means I'm just kidding, but please post your system's detailed specs!) With my RME FF800, if I accidentally set the sample rate incorrectly, it will impact the speed at which reaper plays. Maybe something happened to some setting somewhere? -mr moon
