RE: MBox Distortion - Here\'s what I\'ve done + outcomes
Look closely, while the MBox Packaging may say 256 KB min, I think this is a carry over from the previous versions of PT based on version 5.3. The specifics on version 5.4 upted the min requirements to 512 MB. At least this is the way I recall since PT made me go out to purchase a new system also. One option my be to load the older version 5.3 to see how it runs in 384 MB. Nevertheless, I'm sure you will enjoy upgrading your system. Before you buy watch out for the pit-falls with some of the new Dell systems with the incompatible chip set and I don't know what you can do about the XP2 issues??

Yeah, my current system is a Dell and there aren't many support places that will even look at Dell's because they are . . . "fussy". The machine I pointed out above is an HP and the chipset is a VIA, which was recommended to me by digidesign support group. They also advised me that since I am running PT 6.7, that the service pack 2 for windows shouldn't be an issue. What do you think?
RE: MBox Distortion - Here\'s what I\'ve done + outcomes
agreed, thats what I thought. As for trying SP1 . . . all new systems seem to come with SP2, so I don't seem to have the option of having sp1 installed !
