Hi, I just read in the compatibility section of this site that "Computers with Opteron or Athlon 64 processors are known to be incompatible with Pro Tools." Is this really true? Why would they write it if it isn't? I ask because I see that in the "Best Desktops for PTLE" thread above an Athlon 64 system is recommended. Can anyone please provide me with some guidance? I'm using a Digi 002 on an Athlon 64 3400 / Asus K8V Deluxe mobo, and it works just fine.

ditto! They are just untested so that can't claim anything yet. It was the same with the athlon xp back when it came out. Athlon64's are the best pc PTLE riggs available!! -Kevin
Thanks for the replies. So are Digidesign basically saying that it's caveat emptor if you run PTLE on an Athlon 64 system and they won't support you if you have problems? What is their support like, you one does have difficulties?
I am also running an Athlon 64 system with no problems..
