Assistance please!!!!

I've went through all of the troubleshooting sections and forums. I've installed the Protools 7 and when I plug in the usb( in the farthest port from the screen) it does not respond at all. The hardware works fine on my pc, and my macbook recognizes other plug and play devices. I am at a loss! I'm new to this site and mac products to be honest, so i apoligize if I sound like an idiot! lol

If you're using MacBook Pro. It's NOT recommended that you use the USB port on the right of the laptop.

Yea, Mbox 2 It's a Macbook and it's recomended to plug into the farthest port from the screen on the left side.

Did you install the software without it plugged in? You have it plugged into the correct port for the macbook, have you tried to put in maybe a usb drive to make sure it was working properly? Did you install the universal binary version of PT 7? because it won't work if you have the PPC version installed. Download the 7.1.1 universal binary version from the digi site, and uninstall that other version.

PS: I just bought this MacBook Pro, it's OS X 10.4.9 PPS: Following digidesign support advice, I'm downloading OS X 10.4.9 combo update. Lets see if this solves anything.
