How's it working for you? Many of us that use Mix + rigs at work want to know how this important plug in works out in practice (especialy the graphic mode) on the RTAS platform so we can concider 001 systems for home or secondary PT set-ups. Any reports gratefully recieved. Thanks, Jules [This message has been edited by Jules (edited July 31, 2000).]

I downloaded the demo version & used it for the first time today... a little confusing, but then again, I've never used it before. Here's the link: Let us know what you think...

I have it and have used it on the last 3-4 tunes I've mixed. Two bugs (reported to Antares already): 1. If you set it to make a graph of the entire buffered area and then adjust something, all the graphical elements to the right of what you have adjusted, shift slightly to the right. Workaround: do very small sections of the buffered area. 2. Output level 4-6db louder than original track. Workaround: I put a 1-band EQ after autotune as an insert and reduce the input level 5db. It's a great product for version 1.0 - it's just easy to overuse it and suck all the emotion out of a track. It's great for 14-year-old wannabe vocalists, and it can take a polished pro vocal performance to the next level. I luv it, but it's addicting... ------------------ LW

Download the demo and play with it....? They include a little tutorial. Punching in and out also works... ------------------ LW [This message has been edited by lwilliam (edited August 03, 2000).]

"it's just easy to overuse it and suck all the emotion out of a track." larry, you should try living in the uk where every damn thing on the radio at the moment has been 'auto-tuned' to utter f**k. (think Cher's 'believe'). Craig David is Satan for sure. [This message has been edited by redleader (edited August 04, 2000).]

redleader, Trust me, we have to listen to plenty of that sh*t over here too. I'm sure if you're running a commercial studio, Auto Tune is a necessity since it has become an industry standard, but I think it is pure evil and should be banned. I admit the Antares demos provided some fun entertainment... making my band's vocalist do the Cher thing... trying to make a U87 sound like a SM57... I'm easily amused.
