Physical Memory Low... or is it?

Advertising

MessageAuthor

I've got a quadcore machine with 8gb of installed ram, running win7 64bit. Windows sees all 8gb in system properties. When I load a soundfont through NI, I get the "physical memory is getting low, do you wish to continue loading?" message. I hit okay, it gets all the way to 100%, and when I throw everything I've got at it, it doesn't clip or artifact. It seems like there really isn't a problem, and memory was never an issue. So my questions are, 1. Why does that message come up? 2. How can I make it stop coming up? Looking for pointers in the direction of settings to check.

I have this same problem with EWQL Symphony Orchestra. It hasn't caused any problems however.

RE: Physical Memory Low... or is it?

Okay, thanks for the sanity check. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one. It would be interesting to see how to fix it. I might check NI's community... EDIT: It's apparently NI-Windows issue. NI isn't LAA so it flashes the warning even if it's fine. Suggestions include enable LAA (for WinXP, 32) and increase page file.
