NE Free Audio Courses?

Wanna learn more detailed information about recording..

This started as a work in progress a few years ago, should be filling out quite nicely by now, but I haven't had time to keep up on it: I believe Berkley also hosts some free audio/music courses.

Anything really to do with working in a studio, mixing, Industry standards. Like, i'm still hung up on some stuff like: WHY does this track need a compressor. How will changing this setting affect this other setting ETC. Why choose an 1176 for this instrument instead of a dbx160 Pretty much anything. ~Rob BTW: the links posted so far are good....
