Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??

Crap.....I kicked the idea around for a while about getting ReValver, because I tried the demo...and though it sounded pretty damn good. Soooo, I buy the HP....or less expensive version $69, as opossed to the $250 version....., anyway.....I like the sound of the HP just fine....with a little tweaking it does everything I need.....except for one thing.......Most songs have more than one electric guitar on them......sooooo, about the time I bring up ReValver on the second track.....it start pausing every now and then.....not enough to reaalllly piss me off, just get under my skin a tad.....well....in this song I'm working on ..... there just happens to be three electric guitars........soooo when I bring up the third application of revalver....forget it....you can't even listen for the skips and pauses. Now here is the real freaky part.....I found in the directions that there are two ways to use the software...."Real Time" or "Mix Time" Mix time uses four times the computer resources as Real Time....so, I figured I was just on the wrong setting......BUT I'M ON REAL TIME......CRIMANY....IF I SWITCHED IT TO MIX TIME.....MY COMPUTER MIGHT EXPLODE ON MY FREAKIN' LAP...(yeah Lap Top)..... ...and another thing.....I wanted to see what my bass guitar would sound like going thru one of these amps......IT DOESN'T WORK....IT DOES NOTHING....YOU CAN'T BRING UP ONE OF THE AMP MODELS AT ALL WITH THE BASS GUITAR....it must identify the sound as too low or something.....and therefore, wants you to buy different software from them or somethin'. Cripes.....anyone else have these problems? I researched a ton of threads in various Forums....and never really read anything bad about the software.....no problems at all....a few people preferred other software over it but whatever. Sigh (hanging my head in frustration)

Hi Pete....appreciate all of that....I'll bring it up in a bit, and play around with a few of those thoughts. Resting my ears right now. Been remixing a song to death, and...adding Revalver to one track.....(Ha)...I really like the way it sounds. I'm glad you said the Bass works on yours......I'll try that again......that just didn't make any sense at all to me....I don't know why it didn't work last night....but...I'll try again. The HP...doesn't seem any different to me than the full version did....everything works the same....everything is there....I guess just a few less of each options. Thanks...I'll be boch....(in my best Arnold impression)
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
okay...I'm back.......first off......the bass guitar works today. (??????????) (I just have this kind of problem with computers)...but...okay we'll forget that one. As far as the Stand Alone version going at the same time. I guess the answer is "no"..if it is running...I don't know where it's running or how I would find out....but, there's nothing on my computer screen showing the Stand alone version. okey....now here is something though....computer useage....this acts freaky fast. (I actually never noticed that it shows me the readout until you mentioned that) Without this plugin going it reads: 0.0%/6.7%CPU 0/0 spls. Now with it going it jumps too: 18%/25.6%CPU 0/0 spls. Is that what it's suppose to do.....cripes...?
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
OK, so it seems you haven't got the standalone version running. Incidentally, you'll find the standalone in your programs list if you haven't got a desktop icon. So I assume you just bring it up as an Fx in Reaper, which is the plug-in version. The CPU usage seems high to me. Depending on how many effects I've got loaded it can go from about 7% to 15% on my E6400 Core 2 Duo. What processor have you got? For example, the Classic 30 Clean preset runs at about 7 % on my PC. As this is a Peavey amp you may have the same preset in HP to compare. I've got mine set to Real-time mode. Also, if you select Resample on the RIR module it brings CPU usage down a little bit. Pete
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
Alrighty.....that was the problem all right. The Resample button....I was able to bring up all three tracks with the revalver on each one, after I did that......still sloooows the system down...but not the song. And that's the main thing. Thanks Pete....Thanks Ted. I really appreciate it. If you can think of anything else I need to tweak...please yell at me.
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
Hmm... details? Does the HP version have the RIR module? About how many cabs? Can you load third-party impulses with it? Does it also have the Speaker Construction Set? It sounds like it has the VST host, is that true? How about the 3Q and 8Q parametric EQs? The tube compressor and reverbs? Oh yeah, since you have to activate it, how hard is it to transfer from one computer to another? Or is it like, say, Tracktion where you can activate 2 computers? This still sounds like a great deal, the information is just rather sparse. Thanks!
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
Wow, amazing stuff. I wouldn't touch the tubes either. What I'm wondering is if I was traveling, could I deactivate it on my desktop and activate it on my notebook? Or is it bound eternally to the one machine? I'm sure there's a way. I just wonder if it's a big deal (like Windows activation after x number of times) or easy (like Line 6 stuff; it can be done dozens of times per day if you want)
RE: Peavy ReValver doesn't work right for me.....WTF??
This might help. I'm not certain but I think I've got Revalver registered on my laptop as well as my desktop, but I won't be able to check until tomorrow. It's been ages since I used my laptop. edit: I've just checked and I've got the full version of MK3 on my laptop as well as my desktop. I would guess the same rules would apply for the HP version. Pete
