the bolt is still in the capsule assembly brainwreck, it's not supposed to be unscrewed at that point and needs to be unscrewed at the body mid-joint to allow reassembly of the capsule-end... >

i didn't see that bolt there in the mid part of the body before. the guy who unscrewed it broke those two tiny little wires going to the diaphragm then. that sucks.

shure is really good on their service policy. A couple of years ago I sent my sm81s that had been fried by bad phantom power. They didn't repair them they sent me brand new ones for $85 each. At the time I think they were charging $40 to "repair" sm57s Checked again it's $55 mow
