No sound

Hi I have always used Sonar and have just read a review of Reaper, so I thought I would give it a go. OK - I have read the manual and searched the forum for an answer - but I cannot get any sound. I play guitar through a Tascam US-144, I have the audio settings set-up correctly for ASIO (at least they work for absolutely everything else) - but no sound. I am using Amplitube 3 and although the Tascam says there is a signal out, the input level on Amp 3 shows nothing. Any ideas anyone.

Let's try and narrow it down and see where the problem lies. 1. Do you mean you're not able to monitor the sound when recording, or you're getting no sound on playback, or both? 2. Under Options, Pref, Audio, Device, have you set up your Output Range devices up as well as input? 3. After recording, do you get a media item with a normal waveform pattern on it, or just an empty one. 4. On playback, is there activity on the track's VU meter? 5. On playback, is there activity in the Master VU meter? 6. View the Routing Matrix - your output device(s) should be listed along the top on the right. For sound to go there, they need to be selected . 7. (don't laugh, you wouldn't be the first person to do this) ia all your equipment connected properly, turned on, faders up, etc? See if any of that helps ....

Seems to have been the routing matrix - thanks for your help. I will double check the manual now to see if I missed anything, because I dont remember seeing the routing matrix mentioned.
