Multiple Time Selections

Right now we only have the ability to make one time selection in a project. If we had multiple time selections we could create massive repeating loop sequences. For example, we would specify a number of repetions to play a time selection before it skips to the next time selection or continues playing the regular sequence after the specified loop/time selection. AFAIK i've never heard of this functionality implemented in any other daw. Actually i've never heard of this idea before. Pros: May be more convenient than copy/paste functions. ex. Set loop points, Repetition #, and new play location after repetion ends. Kind of like ripple editing without all the mess. Kind of staff like with repeating sections. Fun factor. Simplicity. Satisfy the loop heads. :) Cons: None I can think of.

Hi GuitarKeyes, I'd prefer to have this implemented with regions rather than timeselections, because time selections are temporarily used when editing and regions are part of a project (although the time selection gets saved if you save your project). It would be nice if you could set up a number of repetitions in the regions dialog - even options to make regions play reversed or normal and reversed by turns would be nice. -Data

Cubase's Play Order Track does everything that the OP is asking for. SUPER handy for playing with arrangements.

I'm with Mr Data here. I still need the time selection for editing purposes. And regions already have that arrangement aspect which just needed to be improved upon. Some sort of region playlists -think Song Structure part of pattern sequencers- would be cool as well. Sorry to derail your poll. I like the basic idea, it's just the time selection part I don't dig so much. It's a good idea and I'd like to see some discussion about it.

sounds like 4 point editing. but with more than 4 points.

Studio one kinda has this, i find it interesting.
