DivX 5.0 basic, good enough

Are B-Frames really worth the cost of going through the trouble of getting rid of that annoying spyware ? I use the divX 5.02 basic now and the quality is good enough for me so I stick with it. Any thoughts ?

If you don't want to have to search and edit the registry simply use a firewall and don't let trickler access the internet. Either way it is worth being able to use b frames. Mac

...another option to keep the gain_trickler.exe from being run: download RegCleaner from and look at the "Startup List" tab. Mark and delete all apps and services that you don't want to run automatically at start up. It's worth it anyways - you'll see that a lot of services are not necessary at all and you can get rid of them as well (stuff like auto-updaters or things like NeroCheck - I don't know what it's for, but you can remove it ;))

Or you could just run msconfig and remove the startup items that way. :)
