No .avi output

Ok, I've been using Gknot for more than a year and I'm not really a newbie although I don't use all the aspects I know Gknot provides. Anyway I ran into some trouble because one day all of a sudden I didn't get an avi and the encoding process was cut way to short of normal. It's as though it doesn't us Nandub or Virtualdub in the process at all. I don't understand because I've been doing this for so long and nothing was wrong. I have run into this problem before though and all I did was reinstall Gknot to fix it. It works for a while but then just give me the same problem by not outputing the avi. This time is special though because I've reinstalled Gknot about 4 times and the first time it just gave me crappy quality all the way through as though I didn't hit the "set credits start" button at the end but trust me I've triple checked it and no improvement. Now it just doesn't give me an avi and if finishes real quick so tell me I'm being a moron forgot something so I can encode the 6 movies of vob files taking up most of my hd. Please help, I will post my log once it's done encoding which shouldn't be too long. Thanks for any help you can give.

I would say its in the codecs. Did it process the audio? If it is finishing real fast then it sounds like your divx codec the problem. Open vdub and select video-compression and see if the codec is listed. Maybe reinstall it. You could also post your gnot log. Mac

If you install Gknot you should install it before you install DivX5.02. The reason is because Gknot installs DivX4 and that will overwrite DivX5 so when it trys to encode with Vdub, it won't find the codec.

RE: No .avi output

Yes I encode the audio and get the d2v and AC3 file. I have fixed it by changing to say movie one on the lower right hand corner from movie 3 which is what i normally use and just redo the settings. Then it works for a little while then just stops giving an avi whenever I encode. And it doesn't go past the command prompt like it doesn't open virtual dub or nan dub it just thinks its done. In the log it even says the output is an avi but there isn't one in the folder and encoding only took like 20 min. I reinstalled it like five times trying to fix it and yes I made sure I installed Gknot first before divx 5. I looked in virtual dub under video-compression and I see a long list of files. I'm not sure what codec you want me to look for but it looks like there's a lot there. Cinepak codec by radius, divx 5.0.2 codec, Intel lYUV, Microsft H.261 video codec and microsoft H.263 video codec. That's all of them. Anyway, thanks for the help, anything else you can think of I'd appreciate it. RE: No .avi output

Is that your entire log file? If not then your encoding never even got to VirtualDub. It died right as it tried to convert the AC3 file into MP3. I don't know why that is. You should try to see if you can rip another DVD. If that one won't get past the Audio then it could be a problem with Gknot amd BeSweet. I have never had this problem so hopefuly a mod will know what to do.

RE: No .avi output

I don't understand it. I just started instinct not 5 min ago and it's done as you can see from the log time. I don't change anything I'm doing at all, everything is the same and still it starts doing this and doesn't stop untill I reset the settings and put back in the bit rate settings then it works fine for the first few movies. What should I do? If anyone has any idea please tell me and I'll try it. Thankfully, Inspiration
