I can't admit to knowing anything about AviSynth, and it seems the download page just refreshes when I try to get it...Save As stores a copy of the interim page. :j I'm also having trouble saving it, as is. I tried to lay it down under XviD at about 1000, but the file comes out at two to four times that bitrate, about four gigs when I wanted CD-size. Should I assume that XviD doesn't play nice with the dancing static? It still came out large, but not as oversized, when I tried a partal encode at each lower resolution and with motion blur filtering.

In one Avisynth Forum under removing diagonal bars thread, it was mentioned probably you were looking at a filter. Please look into that thread If what you are looking at is corresponding to that it may help you.
