Have you changed the version of DVD2AVI or is the bundle completely as it was? Have you tried to play the ripped VOB files to see if they are damaged at all? Have you tried to manually run DVD2AVI to see if it freezes then too? Mark

RE: DVD2AVI Hanging

As a result of your questions I did some more investigation. Everything appeared to work fine when done manually via the DVD2AVI interactive user interface, so I then looked for ways to make it go wrong from the command line. I have found a couple of ways to get the symptoms I had: - Use a very long path name. I guess this blows some command line limit. - Have a comma in the path name. I guess this blows up the DVD2AVI parameter parsing. Anyway, I have moved all my files to a top level folder which does not clash with the above points and it has all started working. Thanks for the questions - I guess just the fact that you could not see any reason for it not to work spurred me to look further.

I don't quite understand it, looking at your path in the above log: Q:\Hell\SVCD\ There's neither a , nor is the path that long. I'm a bit confused.

RE: DVD2AVI Hanging

That is because I had done a global edit on the path name (which was very long) to make the file easier to read when I was trying to look for a possible problem - and then forgot to post the original unedited file. Sorry about that - the problem might have been spotted immediately otherwise? Just to let you know I sent the details of what I found in to your bug report address (I was not sure you would see my postings here).

Let this be a lesson to everybody. Do _not_ edit the log file before posting it here, it kind of defeats the purpose of the log if you do.
