Using Piano Roll with NI Kore 2 Player

Advertising

MessageAuthor

I've gotten lost on the 400+ page manual and still havent found what Im looking for. I have all my drums/percussion in Native Instruments Kore Player. I have no problem getting the external synth to be recorded in Reaper using ReaRoute... but for percussion, I really like to use the piano roll. How I can create a track in Reaper..create a piano roll.. have the output of the piano roll be the input (essentially the midi controller) to the Kore Player and then the output of the Kore player go back into Reaper on another track that records it? RECAP - Create piano roll in reaper that outputs to Kore 2 player which plays the drums, and the Kore 2 output then feeds back into Reaper as a .WAV file Thanks Mike

It would be easiest if you used Reaper to host Kore. Insert instrument on new track, select Kore player. Add a MIDI item (usually Ctrl+drag) and that's about it. Double-click on the MIDI item to edit it. Steve

Just to add to what bradleyfilms said If you want to record the drum output from Koreplayer, right click on the vu meter of the track with Kore inserted and choose the desired formatt from the "record output" option. Cheers

Thanks guys....that worked... I have hosted other instruments in Reaper...but because Kore Player seemed more like an external application I didnt think I could do that... I read in the manual about how to use ReaRoute for external synth applications... Of course if I didnt read the manual first I probably would have tried this idea first. Just proof as to why men should not read instruction manuals...lol Thank you.
