Instrument Racks

Ok here is the idea: sometimes, when creating a sound, we are going to use more than one instrument, for example when layering a bass-synth with a sub to give it more warm, or when layering a pad with a piano-key sound etc etc (endless possibilities). Instead of creating a track for each layer, why don't implement a rack system inside the track, so we can have multiple chains of fx in the same track, each one with its instrument and effects, each one with its volume and mute/solo button, each one with its own Plugin Delay Compensation (this must be calculated separately for each chain), but all the chains inside the track are triggered by the same midi (they are all in the same track!). Here a picture (sry i know it is terrible i made it with paint but it should give you the idea) to show you a possible way to implement rack instruments in Reaper...in this case only with 2 layers (chains), one with Massive and some cockos efx and the other with Zebra2 and some cockos efx. The idea is to use the same FX window of Reaper, but adding columns as a new chains of fx inside the same track. All is inside the same track, so we can save it as a track template and recall it with all its layers instantly! I am not inventing nothing, this will be like Ableton instrument racks, but inside Reaper! I think it could be a very cool add to Reaper! What do you think?

Sorry for skimming the post if I missed something but you can do this using routing in the FX chain. It won't be as pretty and easy as you probably need but once you set it up, make that a chain and it only hurts once. Theoretically, you can have 32 of them in parallel (64 channels/2). Otherwise, BlueCat makes a wrapper VST that can house multiple VSTs so you could place 2 of those on a track with one on 1/2 and the other on 3/4 and so on. Just some ideas for you.
