Slowly moving the time selection doesn't track with mouse

MessageAuthor

Dragging the time selection in the arrange view (via "Move time selection", bound by default to Shift+LeftDrag) doesn't track with the mouse when you move it slowly. And the tracking decreases the slower you move it. If you move it very slowly, it won't move at all. You must be zoomed in a few clicks for it to occur. See here: To reproduce Make a time selection Zoom in one or two clicks past default Slowly drag the time selection (via "Move time selection", bound by default to Shift+LeftDrag) If it doesn't work, repeat from step 2

Isn't that a loop selection and not time selection?

Not seeing that here (in particular not the odd wiggling). It always moves once the mouse cursor has passed a distance equal to a grid line (it's depending on the grid/snap settings), independent of mouse movement speed. Turning snap off makes it follow smoothly independent of speed. Can you post a screenshot of your grid/snap settings?

I'm also able to reproduce on my Macbook in a fresh portable install. Edit: Heh, just to be clear, the "fresh portable install" phrasing was force of habit. What I meant was running it unaltered from the mounted image.

Can anyone confirm? I'd like to file an issue for this.

I've tried that with different zoom levels and on XP/Vista/OSX and I can't seem to make that happen. I noticed you are using some theme, does that also happen with the default theme?

I don't think that's mouse driver related. Weird anyway.

For completeness's sake, here's me reproducing the bug in OSX, running Reaper from the unaltered installation dmg, unrelated in every way to my Win7 box: Apologies for the long LICEcap. You can see I have to move the mouse a lot slower to trigger the bug, so I mess up a couple times, but it's there nonetheless.

OK, now I can sometimes reproduce. Zooming in and out seems to affect it, as well as how wide the time selection is in relation to the screen size (although sometimes this doesn't matter, either). Tricky one.
