Full size spare in the boot?

Advertising

MessageAuthor

I have a new 16" alloy and tyre spare wheel for my S60. Tried to fit it in the boot and failed months ago. Any one managed it? Many thanks for any advice.

Thanks Mo for your quick answer. I just thought the police had a full size spare. I am going abroad in October with the car and if I could have put the full size one in it would have been a bonus. Many thanks

I've read somewhere on here that you can fit the full size wheel in but have to remove all the padding/moulding, and even then it's a squeeze. Edit ah it was here: was for a V70? Maybe the design is different? Let all the air out - should fit then ;-)

Many thanks. The full size size spare fits in the V70 as long as its not got the rear 7 seat conversion. I had this in the boot of my V70. When its dry I will give it another go. Many thanks.

Jim, any joy with fitting a full size spare in the boot of your S60? I had the pleasure of driving 60 miles down the M40 yesterday on the spacesaver and I'm very keen to replace it with a full size spare if possible. Jonny

It should go in but will sit proud of the recess so the boot floor won't go flat.

I have a 2006 V70. A 17 inch wheel (225/45 17) will fit nicely in the wheel well. No need to remove or adjust any foam, the battery. The black tray won'f fit in. C'est la vie! George
