Hello everyone. I was going to post this in the midi forum but it doesn't get much action. I'm trying to use my new Triton Studio with Pro Tools, and I want to be able to record 16 tracks of midi, with a different sound on each track. I can do this easily with my QS8. However, I can't seem to find the right combination of button presses to make it possible with the Triton. I have 16 midi tracks with a different channel assigned to each track. OSX Midi Setup seems to be in order. Triton seems to be set correctly, but... I can only record and play back midi on one channel... the channel that is set as the global channel in Triton. I can't seem to bypass this global channel setting. What am I doing wrong?! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry man for my English, because I'm from Ukraine(exUSSR) I have Korg Triton Rack and Pro Tools TDM 6.1. I try to help you 1. U're mast set the Korg in MULTI mode. In this case only Korg will receive ALL 16 CHANNEL. 2. In Pro Tools go to /Setups/Edit Midi Studio Setup/MIDI Devices tab and try click to "Add Device". "New External device" icon will be created. Duoble click to this icon. In "Manufacturer" line select the "Korg". In "Model" line select one more like a Triton Studio. If Triton Studio are not in list, select Trinity or Trinity Pro or some model like Trinity. In "Device Name" line write anythin like "Korg Triton" Click on "More Properties" Set all knobs and checkboxes to ON and press OK Then create in Pro Tools "New MIDI track" and set output to "Korg Triton" And U must have 16 midi channel are working. Programs of each of Korg's channel U can set from Pro Tools MIDI track. Name of patch or programm not be named some as in your Triton Studio, and bank numbers may be not copatible You may change bank number if You have been change a "Controller32" field to follows digits: 0-bank A 1-bank B 2-bank C 3-bank D and etc Enjoy!!! Sorry for my English!!!

Thanks again. I have the Triton Studio keyboard, and it does not have the "Multi" button that you speak of. Do I need to put it in "Sequencer" mode to bypass the Global channel setting? I can't test it right now, but maybe someone knows? Thanks in advance.
Sorry to beat a near-dead horse, but if anyone can tell me how to put hte Triton Studio keyboard into multi mode, I'd be GREATLY appreciative. The manual doesn't mention it and Korg tech support hasn't gotten back to me yet. Thanks
Sequence mode should give you 16 ch of MIDI......also, if you have a 16 channel sequence already in the triton, you should be able to save it as a midi file,Pull the floppy out and put it in the mac(If you have a floppy drive) and import THAT into Pro Tools. If you go Import MIDI to track and don't set any tracks up beforehand, it should put everything in there including tempo and time sig. settings and automatically create your tracks for you. Then you just have to make sure that each track's MIDI outputs are set to different MIDI Channels.....does this help?
