jumpy video on DVD-R in Thomson 4200

Hi, just finished a simple DVD with a small menu and a concert track. Burned perfectly in a Pioneer A03, but the result is very jerky. In a Pioneer dvd player the DVD works perfectly. Any1 has any idea if there's a "maximum" bitrate for a Thomson player? Videostream has AC3 track, made with Sonic software. I've tried to find data on the bitrate etc, but no luck here. any1??

If you made an mpeg from AVI: This could be an interlace problem two things to check: 1) fieldorder must be set corretly (Top/A = Analog input, Bottom/B = DV) 2) Framerate must match exactly, for PAL 24.997 is not good, must be 25 To check/change your framerate, use avifrate Good luck Rinkel

Sorry, but maybe I was not clear enough in my explanation ;) It's no problem with interlacing, but the DVD player "jumps" through the DVD, skips parts or suddenly junps to the next chapter. Also video and audio sometimes just stops, so nothing for a couple of seconds and then it just continues. As I said, the DVD just plays fine in a Pioneer NV-55 set.

sounds like on my Thomson (4500 I think).. haven't had time to test on another player yet.. maybe it's time for me to switch players if another works.
