hakko504 I just tried your suggestion and I get 'File is not a valid dvd2avi project (v1.76, YUV2)!' error when I attempt within gKnot to open a d2v file which was created on PC-B using PC-D since my original post I've managed to remap PC-As 2nd disk to drive letter O:, network mapped PC-C and PC-D to use \\PC-A\O as O:\ - I can now run d2a locally on PC-A and open the d2v file on either PC-C or PC-D. Alas, never happy eh! I cannot usefully create the avs file on PC-D and run vob>avi part on PC-C, gKnot keeps the resolution, bitrate and audio params elsewhere [the gks file perhaps]. Realistically VNC is usually more than up to the job of letting me create the avs file on a remote PC.
