what's the best method of interpolating fields to full height? and i don't mean by using Bob(). is there a way to do it with SeparateFields().something to interpolate.

Telecide(blend=false) will interpolate. The other methods have too many issues IMO. Unless you have a really good source that the fields will separate nicely in, that's a bad way to do it. I would only use these methods if Telecide or other means fail.

@86peaches Your question is not fully clear. If you mean you are discarding a field and want to return to full height, then any reasonable resize filter can be used.

But if he then wants to get back to full size he'll have thrown away half his horizontal resolution for nothing. I don't think anybody thinks they're going to improve quality by interpolating. :rolleyes:

> I don't think anybody thinks they're going to improve quality by interpolating. of course ^^, but never underestimate joe users ^__^ since verical resolution is less noticable than horizontal one, it may be a good idea to encode at half resolution, if your source as a big resolution (HDTV,DVD,full size TV caps), no ??

Try "smoothdeinterlacer" - use search or look at . It does wonders, in restoring double-rate progressive images!
