Hi I have a dark blue V70 estate (and I love her dearly of course) and it has a beige interior. Unfortunately, when it's really sunny the light reflects off of the beige vinyl dashboard onto the inside of the windscreen so much soo that I cannot see out of the window. The only view I have is a perfect mirror image of my glorious dash! Joking aside, this is obviously a danger to me and other road users too. Anyone encountered the same problem and managed to fix it at all? The only solution that I can think of is to give is a dusting with a VERY fine sandpaper to take the sheen off. My previous cars with black dashes never had this problem, so I'm afraid that it's all in the colour. Thanks in advance.
Try Simonize dash cleaner in the matt version that helps abit..

I don't think the colour of the dash has much bearing - the wife's S40 is dark but the reflection is awful. My V70 is beige and there is a glare, but nowhere near as bad. If the Simoniz works let me know. It's either that, the sandpaper or hang some curtains!:)
i woudnt use sandpaper, as it might be too aggresive, either try a nylon pan scourer, or, get some bodyshop degreaser that is used to remove polish, prior to respraying. paul
sandpaper sounds a bit drastic! i was suffering from exactly the same problem in mine on the a1 today. i was considering maybe laying something on the dash in sunny weather. have you seen that sticky cloth stuff thats meant to be non-slip? that has been suggested in the past
Common problem due mainly to the raked back windscreens on modern cars. Was never a problem in the old days. The more they supposedly improve cars in certain respects the more disadvantages they introduce in others!.
