RE: cheap interface recommendation?

Buy M-BOX, the first one would be enough and cheaper.

I have a Tascam US-122L. It's great and very portable. Fit's nicely in my laptop bag. Go for the US-144 if you need the S/PDIF... D

Take a look at the Line6 gear, The sound quality is superb and the included sound manipulation software Gearbox/Podfarm allow fantastic and easy recordings of guitar/Bass and vocals.

RE: cheap interface recommendation?

I had problems with the mbox2 mini. Incorrect latency reporting, high pitch noise in background (not present with any other combination of our gear that we tried), unbalanced line input and outputs, unstable drivers and or USB instability... I love my delta-66, and I expected that the mbox would work with my other software as well as the delta does. Now I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. Did i mention the normal windows driver support for them is hopeless? No real directsound drivers, only MME, and they don't work well anyway. Sigh. Would be a great little interface if it worked properly. I don't know if any of this applies to the non-mini mboxes as I haven't used them. Besides, If I was going to spending that much money, I'd probably go with RME, Lynx or MOTU instead.
