change the background of the main menu after joining 2 DVDs with DVDremake

MessageAuthor

You have to produce your menu and replace it with VobBlanker and edit with PgcEdit.

To use DvdReMake menu background with your own label, use this . To completely customize your own menu with an authoring software, use this .

RE: change the background of the main menu after joining 2 DVDs with DVDremake

Thanks all. SPYHAWK, the first guide shows me how to choose a menu which I already know how to do. Now the second one is to show me how to change the default menu with the one I want. Here comes my problem where I dont know how to make that menu with highlighted buttons. I just need to know how to make a menu with the backgroung image I want and have it as a vob file then change it with the DVDremake default menu. I hope I'm clear

As Step 1 of the guide says, you must use an authoring tool to create menu. With this tool, you can create highlighted buttons. Some of the tools are TMPGEnc DVD Author, Nero Vision Express, DVDLab, Ulead DVD Workshop 2, freeware DVDStyler, etc. To create the menu, these tools require some type of imported video for the title domain. So just use some small video or a blank video should suffice. These tools will output the menu VOB file, which you will replace in DvdReMake Pro.

RE: change the background of the main menu after joining 2 DVDs with DVDremake

I made the menu and it was just like I wanted but I couldn't still replace it. I opened both DVDs (the joined DVDs and the DVD that has the menu) in DVDRemake, and I copied the first menu and pasted it on the joined DVDs. I also copied the command of the old menu and pasted it on the new one but it still doesn't work. I just want to know how to change the commands for each button to open a certain thing. Thanx a lot

Generally I replace menus with VobBlanker and edit button commands with PgcEdit.

Yeah dude, sounds like you really want to do it manually. Its kind of hard the first time, but its worth the effort to learn. Its the only way I create or edit menus. Use the stickied guide: (its on the first page, scroll down) This will require the use of the following free programs: PgcEdit VobBlanker MuxMan Plus, a paint/graphics program to edit the BMPs.

Instead of the combo VobBlanker and PgcEdit, you can do all that in DvdReMake Pro and is really simple. @almared6, I suppose you follow the second guide from post#3 above? The button command is LinkTailPGC (Step 3 of the guide). Could you state the version of DVDRMP you're using and the authoring program to make your own menu?

RE: change the background of the main menu after joining 2 DVDs with DVDremake

Thanx a lot for replying. I was a bit busy last week and i couldn't try anthg. Anyway, I'm using DvdReMakePro 3.5.3 and I think it should work and do all the things I need without using other programs. I merged two DVDs with DVDremake and got one with the default menu. I also made a menu with nero and then replaced it using DVDremake with the default one. The only thing left is to make the two new buttons work as the default ones were. I think this should be about a comander or sthg I found in DVDremake. Thanx again guys and next time I'll show you pictures to where I got so far.
