How to know what frame audio starts at?

MessageAuthor

Hello, I know this is not the right spot but maybe it can get moved to the right spot. Here goes anyway :) I have this movie that the audio starts about a minute into the film because of some dedecations that come up at the front of the movie. Now what can I use to read a vob file that will tell me at what frame the audio file starts at ??? Why I'm asking this is that, you guessed it, my audio is out of sync with my video, not by the normal 2 sec fbi warnings but as I stated above so no matter which way I rip and encode this using the normal ways, this video is going to be out of sync. So I'm thinking that if I knew what freame the audio starts at I can adjust the audio delay in TMPEG to the exact mili sec. Thanks alot

I think if you open up the vob file in Smartripper then you click on the movie. If you go to the stream section (I forget what its called exactly cause I dont have smart ripper in front) you can see the delay of the audio. Again I am not sure about this, I am only recalling this from memory so I might be wrong. :(

Thanks for replying. Using smartripper demux told me -90ms audio delay, but after doing some testing last night with TMPEG I need to use a -46395ms audio delay and I can hardly notice any sync problems. Would be nice if I could find out exactly how much I need.

Ok, well, I can strip the first two cell id's and re-create another ifo file with vstrip and ifoedit but that will make me loose the first minute of the movie. I was able to use DVD2SVCD with my audio delay of 46395ms in bbmpeg Audio1, found out by messing with TMPEG's 'audio gap correct' under the 'source range' section and getting a pretty close sync. I just wish there was a way of finding out exactly how many ms into the VOB the audio starts. The -90ms audio delay that smartripper tells me is usless. I suppose I could create two ifo's, one with only the first two cell id's and another one with the rest of the movie then join them after encoding. Hope i don't get another one of these movies :)
