Bounce to Quicktime = White Frames

MessageAuthor

I am having great trouble trying to bounce a new quicktime movie from a session... basically, for the parts of the session where there is no video track, ProTools is inserting WHITE frames. I searched the Support site at digi.com, and it said it should only do this if SRC which i am not. Any suggestions?

Well, you kinda answered your problem yourself. Just insert black frames and you will have a black pic. Normally there are a few frames at the beginning or end to copy and paste. And if not, create a folder in which you put a movie with a sec of black frames. That's how i do it. Just import the black frame movie and stick it at the front and end of the movie. Hope this helps. That's cool, but why the heck would it play white instead of black??! Surely it's easier to play black!! That does not make any sense to me... having to jack around pasting 20 zillion frames of black is a waste of time. I've NEVER encountered one video program that plays WHITE when there's no clip on the timeline!!

I remember someone mentioning, that this is a quicktime error and not digidesign. But I'm not too sure, whether I am getting things mixed up. Surely with 7.3 there will be bugs repaired. For example insert video black is not working as it should. I'm quite certain the next update will make it work properly. Hope this helps Timothy
