002 chattering fader

The 8th Fader on one of my Digi 002's has begun "Chattering" Anyone have any "non warranty claim" success, with "Cleaning", or something else, to remedy the nervous fader ??

I have/had a similar problem on mine only it's the number six fader. Mine's still under warranty, but I'm too busy (fortunately) to give it up long enough to send it in for repair. Mine chattered for about a week and then it died. It appears to be the motor for the fader. Mine will still control the corresponding fader on the screen, but the screen fader can't control the 002 anymore. Sure wish I had an authorized Digi repair center close by!

Hmm... I almost wish mine would die ! it's violently bashing from top to bottom... probably won't be long... then I'll get some peace and quiet !

SPK it's all 1st Gen, original - certainly "Qualifying" for Power Harness replacement... But... it's just Fader 8 chattering... on ALL sessions - it flips out, unless it's controlling track in PT is off to inf you think it's power harness related ? unit never looses power, and is solid, excluding Fader 8

I really couldn't say for sure; it certainly might just be a bum fader. I just remember IntelDoc having very strange fader issues that were solved by the power supply and power harness replacement. YMMV I think the best thing to do would be to get Digi on the phone (wait the hour...).

For the record, and the archives... my "Chattering Fader Woes" "WERE" Solved by replacing the Power harness. Now I don't have to pour molten lava down the crack of fader 8 Thanks all

ooooh .... this is good to know. I'll have to make it a point to give Digi a call on Monday. My fader finally died after the little poof of smoke came out.
