MessageAuthor

i would love to be able to click on a file in the project and press eg. Ctrl D or something to delete a file not just from the arrange window but completely or even to recycle bin or an option to choose either, i always end up with so many junk takes that i may want to listen to for a bit but want to have the option to delete em properly i will sound like a fool if there is already an option to do this, please be nice im new to reaper, ex traction2 and jeskola buzz user

RE: permanently delete file?

Do the following: 1. Make sure the take file is not in REAPER 2.Go to "File->Clean current project directory..." (A list box with all the files that are not used in the project will be listed.) 3. select the file(s) you want to remove (or delete) 4. hit the "Remove selected files" button (an option to send files to recycle bin can be selected as well) Thats it.. btw, none of the files that are in the project will be listed, those will be safe.

RE: permanently delete file?

WARNING: You need to be sure if those files are not used by another project. And you need to be sure you didn't save any track as template with Include track items in template ticked and removed previously those tracks from your project because then those files won't be listed as "used for current project" and will be deleted too.

RE: permanently delete file?

that will do the job but i would rather be able to delete the file directly from the edit screen, its not really the same thing, esspecially if im not labelling my files as i go(my fault i know) you end up with a huge folder of tracks with numbers for names. would be a cool feature
