Hi All, I have a .m2v file off of a DVD-9. 7.9 GB in size. Don't want to go into avi's, want to stick to .m2v. Again don't want to use ReMPEG2 to reduce the size of the original .m2v files to put them on DVD-9. What are my options ? Input has to be .m2v and so does the output. Helppppppp. dvdguy_2002
i would reccoment the CCE & Ifoedit guide found on this site. using cinemacraft (CCE) and robshot's method, the quality is awesome. the guide might seem complex when you go through it the first couple of times, but after that you really began to understand what you are doing. you could also use tmpeg if you don't have CCE, there is a guide for that as well.
You don't have to go into avi's. You can use DVD2AVI, open the m2v file, save the project (not avi), then use avisynth and CCE to re-compress the video to the size you want, mux it with the audio (DVD2AVi will demux it out when you save the project), prepare your VOB files and voila, you have a new DVD with the size you want. There are guides on this site that explain how to use the above combinations. Looks intimidating, but once you do it a couple of times, comes easily enough - set up one stage, walk away, come back, set up the next stage, so on and so forth :o
I use the standalone version and don't know how the plug-in would do this. It is quite straightforward once you have done it a couple of times - last night I re-encoded Henry Pootter ;-) which is about 7 GB and used SpruceUp to re-author it into a DVD-R.
